Cough Suppressant Uses Temporarily relieves coughs and minor throat irritations due to colds or inhaled irritants. Directions Adults and children 4 years and over: Allow cough drop to dissolve slowly in the mouth. May be repeated every hour as needed or as directed by a doctor. Children under 4 years of age: Consult a doctor. Warnings A persistent cough or sore throat may be a sign of a serious condition. If cough persists for more than 1 week, tends to recur, or is accompanied by fever, rash or persistent headache or if sore throat is severe, persistent or accompanied by fever, headache, nausea or vomiting, consult a doctor. Do not take this product for sore throat lasting more than 2 days or for persistent or chronic cough such as occurs with smoking, asthma, emphysema, or if cough is accompanied by excessive phlegm (mucus) unless directed by a doctor.
